Life is Challenging, Let's roll it out.

Our current state of affairs has definitely created some stress and anxiety in our community. I'm seeing it, I'm hearing from you, there are many ways we can feel good in our bodies changing the conversation we're having with ourselves and others.

Here are some tips that can help you throughout your day.

Don't sit too long. If you're working at a computer or sitting a lot throughout your day, blood is not flowing well through your body. Every hour get up and move. Go pet your furball, go do some laundry. Prep some healthy treats for the rest of the day. Go check the mail. You get the idea. Whether at the office, at home, you can find something that needs to be done. Maybe make a list of those small tasks that you can complete throughout your day, that will give you more time at the end of the day to fit in your workout, or have quality time with your family.

Create a Movement Routine. Did you know that exercise helps create endorphins? Endorphins create that happy feeling, that high that keeps the gym rats going back to the gym over and over. A little pick me up numerous times throughout the day can help create that happy feeling. Create small workouts that can be done throughout the day. It doesn't have to be all at once at the gym. Matter of fact you will gain more endurance when you can work out throughout your day rather than just once a day. Need some help creating some short routines? Hit me up, with my new Custom workout programming.

Get rid of that stiff feeling. Take stretch breaks, build a mobility program of stabilizing joints while improving your range of motion. Stretching always makes us feel better when we stay successful in our movement patterns. Though stretching is great for us, staying strong through your joints is just as important. That is where mobility comes in. Find some videos online, or check out my mobility program. Many of my yoga classes include mobility exercises as well and are accessible to most people.

Roll it out. Who doesn't like a massage? Self-massage lets you meet your own needs targeting the areas that you want and spending as much time as you have. Workshops are available to teach you how to roll out your body with Therapy balls or foam rollers. Both have their benefits. You can even use a tennis ball if you don't have any special tools, though they are limited. Check out some of the workshops coming up here at Empowered Wellness.

Sometimes it's hard to know where to start when we are feeling depressed, dealing with seasonal depression, or feeling frustrated with the world/our lives, etc. Starting with the body is simple. It doesn't have to require a lot of equipment or money. Start with something easy and get moving. You will be surprised how it will help you kick that icky feeling.
