Hi Folks,
My name is Kris Myers. I am a fitness professional in the Portland Metro area. I, like many other fitness professionals in my area, have been affected by the COVID 19 pandemic. Many of us are trying to stay in an industry we love and feel passionately about, because we know the importance of a healthy lifestyle for all of us and how that looks is different for each of us.
Who I am

This is a complicated answer for all of us, don't you think? I am much more than just a name or a description, but for the sake of introducing myself and not getting complicated I am a Mom first, to two teenage kids. I am always an eager student who enjoys learning as much as I can about the body, the mind and how to live an amazing life. I'm passionate about the outdoors, adventure and travel. I'm an avid hiker, backpacker and road cyclist and fairly new to the world of Kayaking and Stand Up Paddleboarding. All of these outdoor activities have lead me to a life of fitness indoors where i enjoy HIIT style workouts, Indoor cycling and Kettlebells.
My life has been riddled with minor injuries that led me to find more structured ways to work out that serve me better, but like a lot of people I still struggle with my weight, age and meeting my goals. COVID has not helped any of these issues but I still plug along and do my best to stay motivated and continue my health and fitness journey that is 20 + years in the making.
Lastly I am foodie, I love food with a lot of flavor. The more ethnic the more excited I am to experience it. Most of the cuisine I enjoy lean toward Cajun/Creole, Filipino, Italian and Mexican foods. I don't typically get excited about American food in the sense of Mac n Cheese or Meat and Potatoes. I need a bit more flavor. My latest adventures have been in Healthy Macro Balanced food with big flavor. Is that a category?
What I have to offer
Since the COVID pandemic I have a lot more flexibility in my schedule than earlier this year. My skills range a lot from all varieties of Yoga, Mobility training (strength/flexibilty combined), Strength Training, Agility Training, Nutrition, Special Populations (Parkinson's, Senior, Athletes, etc), Manual Assisted Stretching, Myofascial Release, Functional Movement Screening, and Kettlebell Training. I teach Group Exercise Classes, Small Group Training, and One on One training in any of the formats above.
It has always been my goal to help people stay active in whatever form that is. I live a Judgement free lifestyle so whatever your goals are I can help. My specialty lies in Mobility Training for every day people. I enjoy helping people live a functional life whether that's playing outdoors, work or athletic training.
Since COVID is here to stay, at least for awhile, my plans include moving more virtually. I am currently offering Virtual Yoga Classes, a Yoga in the Park class, and am starting a mobility program for people who are needing more functional movement (movement without pain).

What my credentials are
It's always important to know where someone's education comes from and whether they are trained in the services they offer. That doesn't necessarily mean they are the right person for you, but it does help you make an educational decision about hiring someone for their services.

I hold a Experienced Yoga Teacher Certification with Yoga Alliance which means I am certified with over 1000 hours of teaching experience. I hold a degree in Exercise Science, which means I have a solid understanding in anatomy, physiology, and exercise. I have recently become certified as an Functional Range Conditioning mobility specialist, an elite scientifically based functional mobility training company based world wide.
